About Helena Jansen
Helena Jansen, originally from Palamos, Spain, began her journey in tennis at the age of seven, dedicating her early life to mastering the sport. Her commitment and talent led her to achieve an impressive ranking of 190 in the ITF juniors circuit, showcasing her potential as a rising star in the tennis world.
In 2019, driven by her ambition and passion for tennis, Helena made the bold decision to relocate to the United States. This transition marked a significant turning point in her athletic career as she enrolled at Appalachian State University. During her collegiate tennis tenure, Helena emerged as a standout player, consistently displaying her skills on the court. She earned the coveted position of the team’s number one player and was recognized multiple times as the Sun Belt Tennis Player of the Week throughout the 2022-2023 season. Helena’s impressive performance led to her selection for the All-Conference First Team Singles, and she received a nomination for the NCAA Women of the Year in 2023, solidifying her reputation as one of the top athletes in collegiate tennis.
In addition to her athletic prowess, Helena is also an accomplished student. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with outstanding academic performance and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Communication, demonstrating her commitment to both her academic and athletic pursuits.
In a surprising twist to her athletic journey, Helena was introduced to pickleball in September 2023. What initially began as a casual interest quickly transformed into a deep passion for the sport. By February of the following year, Helena had fully immersed herself in pickleball, preparing for competitive play. Her dedication culminated in her debut at the PPA pro tour in April 2024, marking a new chapter in her athletic career.
