Review of Mibhuvan Super Adhesive Marking Tape

As a dedicated pickleball player and blogger, I’m always on the lookout for gear that can enhance my playing experience. Recently, I decided to try out the Mibhuvan Super Adhesive Marking Tape for marking courts at a community event, and I had high hopes to create clear and visible lines without the hassle.

One of the standout features, as mentioned in the product description, is that this tape is tough enough for various surfaces, including hardwood and gym floors. I particularly appreciated the multifunctionality, as I planned to use this tape not just for pickleball but also for badminton during the event. The fact that it’s touted as easy to use and removable without leaving residue was definitely appealing.

In terms of application, the taping process was straightforward. I loved how quickly I was able to create clean, straight lines. The vibrant blue color made the boundaries pop on both indoors and outdoors surfaces, providing excellent visibility for players. Several other users, including Anne Pham, praised the tape for its strong adhesion, and I can confirm that it held up well against foot traffic initially.

However, my experience wasn’t entirely without drawbacks. During setup, I noticed that the temperature was fairly warm. A day later, as temperatures rose above 80 degrees, I began to see edges of the tape lifting. This perfectly echoes Stephanie Curts’s feedback about the poor adhesion in higher temperatures. By the end of the event, some lines had peeled up completely, which was a real letdown given the effort invested in taping.

Another point of concern was a comment from C. Torres, who mentioned that the tape left marks on the court. I didn’t experience heavy residue, but some areas had minor discoloration on the surface, which could be a deal-breaker for anyone focused strictly on maintaining pristine court conditions.

On the other hand, I found the tape to be a cost-effective option, as it’s not only suitable for pickleball but can also be used in various settings like gyms, restaurants, and even at home, fulfilling multiple roles. One user noted that it works well for temporary markings on clean surfaces, which aligns with my own assessment.

The roll’s size is also impressive—at 230 feet long, I felt like I was set for many future events. Several reviewers, including Robert H., expressed excitement over the size, and I have to agree! You’ll certainly laugh at how massive it is compared to typical painter’s tape or other markings.

When it comes to challenges such as applying the tape, I learned the hard way that ensuring the surface is clean is vital for better adhesion. I can second nwmike’s advice of pressure washing the surface beforehand. If you don’t, the tape definitely struggles to stick, leading to a less-than-ideal outcome.

Overall, I’d rate this tape around 3.5 stars. While it has some clear pros, such as visibility, versatility, and initial ease of use, the issues with adhesion in warm temperatures and surface marking dampen my enthusiasm somewhat. If you’re looking for a straightforward, temporary solution for marking courts, especially indoors, I would still recommend giving the Mibhuvan tape a shot. Just keep in mind its limitations, particularly in varying weather conditions. Happy playing!
