About Helena Jansen
Helena Jansen hails from Palamos, Spain, and her journey in sports began at a tender age of 7 when she first picked up a tennis racket. Her dedication to tennis propelled her to achieve an impressive ranking of 190 on the ITF juniors circuit. In 2019, driven by her passion for the sport and the desire to broaden her horizons, Helena made the significant decision to move to the United States to pursue her athletic dreams further.
Her collegiate tennis career at Appalachian State University was marked by exceptional performances and accolades. Helena emerged as a key player for the team, frequently securing the number one spot on the roster. Throughout the 2022-2023 season, her skills were recognized multiple times, earning her the Sun Belt Tennis Player of the Week award. Additionally, she was honored with a position on the All-Conference First Team Singles and received a nomination for the prestigious NCAA Women of the Year in 2023.
In tandem with her athletic endeavors, Helena excelled academically. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with notable achievements and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Communication, all while maintaining an impressive academic record.
In a surprising turn of events, Helena was introduced to the dynamic sport of pickleball in September 2023. What started as a casual interest soon ignited into a full-fledged passion. She fully embraced the sport, transitioning from recreational play to competitive involvement in a short period. By February 2024, her dedication led her to debut on the PPA (Professional Pickleball Association) pro tour in April, marking a new chapter in her sporting career.
