About Anderson Scarpa

Anderson Scarpa, hailing from Charleston, South Carolina, is a prominent figure in the world of pickleball. A graduate of Mercer University, Anderson showcased his athletic prowess as a member of the Division 1 collegiate tennis team. After completing his education, he returned to Charleston to join the family business, which specializes in resurfacing tennis courts. It was during this time that he discovered his passion for pickleball, initially sparked by his work painting pickleball courts.

Scarpa entered the competitive scene of pickleball in 2020, quickly making a name for himself by actively participating in tournaments starting in 2021. His competitive spirit has led him to an impressive record, which includes six medals on the APP Tour in both mixed and men’s doubles categories. Among his most notable achievements on the PPA Tour are a fifth-place finish in singles at the 2023 Desert Ridge Championship, a fifth-place finish in men’s doubles at the 2022 PPA North Carolina event, and a quarterfinal appearance at the 2024 PPA Bristol Cup. Over the course of his career, Anderson has secured victories against several top-ranked players, including Pablo Tellez, Tyson McGuffin, Collin Johns, and Jaume Martinez Vich.

In addition to his tournament success, Anderson has also made his presence felt in Major League Pickleball, having played for seven different teams, including two at the premiere level. His most recent team affiliation has been with the Nashville Chefs.

Outside of his athletic pursuits, Anderson enjoys a fulfilling personal life. He is happily married to his wife, Alana, and they are proud parents to their two-year-old daughter, Alivia. The family is eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new baby boy in the near future, marking another exciting chapter in their lives.
