Review of Magicorange Pickleball Balls

As a devoted pickleball player, I’ve always been on the lookout for quality gear that enhances my game. Recently, I got my hands on the Magicorange Pickleball Balls, which are USAPA approved and marketed as high elasticity and durable. With several competitions and practice sessions lined up, I was eager to see how these balls would hold up on the court and if they could meet my needs.

The first thing that impressed me was the high visibility of the balls. Available in seven vibrant colors, they are indeed easy to spot, even in lower light conditions. I opted for a bright yellow during my first session, and it did not disappoint. Having bright balls also helps during intense matches when you’re chasing that fifth shot of a rally.

In terms of performance, I immediately appreciated the excellent balance and high elasticity. With 26 precisely drilled holes, these balls seemed to provide a consistent bounce and flight characteristics that I found satisfying. Each hit felt smooth, and the balls maintained their shape throughout a rigorous two-hour session. I even tested them against an outdoor ball, and honestly, I preferred the Magicorange version for indoor play, which resonated with other players in my group, including feedback from a fellow player who mentioned a marked preference for these over outdoor balls on multipurpose floors.

However, I also encountered some challenges echoed by other users. A reviewer pointed out that although the seam is quite visible, it didn’t really affect their play. When I first examined the balls, I had the same concern. While I didn’t find the seam impacted my play negatively in indoor settings, I noticed it did influence the bounce slightly when playing at other venues. For example, players using the blue color for a venue with similar-colored floors found them difficult to follow—something I too experienced with my orange balls.

Several other reviews noted quality issues, particularly regarding durability. One user had their ball crack after only a few games, which echoed my apprehensions. While I had no major durability problems during my playtime, I was mindful of the perceived inconsistency in quality. After about three or four games, I felt a bit anxious about the possibility of one splitting or developing cracks, given the reports I’d read. I suggest babying these balls somewhat to ensure longevity, especially if you have competitive games scheduled.

In terms of convenience, the mesh drawstring bag is a superb addition. It’s easy to carry around and keeps all six balls together, making it a breeze to toss them in my gear bag for day trips to the courts.

Despite the concerns regarding seams and durability, I ultimately feel satisfied with my purchase. The bounce quality and ease of play more than compensated for the concerns about seams, especially for recreational play. As a player who’s always practicing my volleys, having several balls on hand meant less chasing after errant shots.

In summary, I would give the Magicorange Pickleball Balls a solid 4 out of 5 stars. They perform well, especially for casual games and practice. However, if you’re involved in competitive play or need ultra-durable balls, consider trying these in tandem with another brand for critical matches. Overall, they offer great value and the chance for hours of pickleball fun while honing your skills. I would recommend them to fellow players, as my experience has been largely positive despite the little hiccups.
